Drainspec is a family-run drainlaying business based in Whangarei, working right across Northland. We focus on drainage and wastewater, from new build drainage and septic systems to stormwater, water tanks and basement waterproofing. With over 25 years in the trade, we know Northland’s clay soils, sloping sections and council rules, and we plan every job around them.

1. Certified to do the work and sign it off
   Our work is carried out by a certifying drainlayer, so it can be certified without bringing in anyone else. You can check our status on the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board public register.
2. Certified Hynds and Duracrete installer
   We install septic tanks and treatment systems to the manufacturer’s requirements, using Northland suppliers Duracrete and Wade. A system installed properly is far more likely to perform the way it was designed to.
3. One team from quote to sign-off
   We quote the job, do the work and provide the paperwork for council sign-off. If a plumber or electrician is needed, we can arrange one or work with your own.
4. Clear quotes, no surprises
   Every site is different, so every job is quoted individually, and quotes are free in Whangarei and the surrounding area. For remote sites, our $499 + GST drainage report sets out what’s needed before anyone makes a special trip.
5. Work you won’t find everywhere
   Not every drainlayer offers exterior basement waterproofing or septic systems designed for baches and holiday homes. We do both, along with the drainage that makes them last.
